Just as one may wonder whether the Sun is rising or setting in the above photograph, one may wonder precisely what purpose Poetry serves. And if you do, you're not alone. Consider the two following quotes:

Whether its your inner demons you wish to give voice to, or its just a simple appreciation of life's small pleasures you're looking for, the poems in Sunlight should have something for you. I agonized a fair bit about how best to group the poems on this site, and then settled on the Navigation system you find on this page- which I hope helps guide you to the kind of poem you're looking for. For the latest additions to the site, you could of course just click on the `What's New?' button on the Main Page. Also included is a small collection of classics that I personally enjoy. Do remember to send in your own creations as well as any classic you like in particular.
