In early spring, 
bright wings 
A sea of flying color 
In a garden of flowers 
Red, blue, crimson, ochre 
Carefree and chipper 
Gliding and cavorting 
Through plants flowering 
Exploring and seeking,
nectar mouth watering 
Sipping the delicious elixir 
And drifting in the arbor 
In the shady lair 
A moment of calm leisure 
Back into action bouncing 
Buoyant but discerning 
An elegant aviator moving 
Lightly and caressing 
Life with vitality and vigor 
A gesture ardent and tender 
Flitting in a meander 
Messages of beauty and color 
Quietly sitting quickly flying 
Dainty harbingers of peace and loving
