TOGETHER AT DAWN

Sleeping by your side, sharing you with none,
A Long day, an endless wait.
Sharing experiences, narrating incidents-with a loud cheer, a quiet smile.
The hurried hours, the worried ways
Now all is at peace, in your arms, as I gently lay.
Whispering, murmuring, what was that ?
You said nothing, I heard it all.
Your heavy breath, my soft sigh, the air is filled but with silence
Shedding a tear, sharing a joke- our little world full of hope and fear.
After a day's work, the night is ours-beyond the world, just you, me and us.
From now on-its my eyes, your dreams and your sleep, my dreams.
Now asleep, now awake - is it night ? Or are we in a daze ?
Weeping in your lap-it was only a nightmare.
I shyly cling closer when I dream a sweet dream.
With you, I forget my sorrow, you, your despair.
Is it the balm of your voice ? Or the heal in my touch ?
Eyes closed, lips sealed, our arms locked.
Neither spoke a word, both were talking.
Together we write a poem of passion, set to the beat of our thumping hearts,
Tuned to the rhythm of our rising pulse; swinging to our each movement.
The music-your voice, the words-my love.
You call me a poet-my eyes point to you;
For if anywhere there is magic, its in those twinkling eyes of yours, I know.
In each others arms, we enter the wee hours of morning;
The night has passed, now let's usher in the light.
The first ray of sunshine, the first song of bird,
My first sight of the day-your face next to mine, so radiant and glowing.
My prayers each night are answered I know;
When I see you in bed-each next morning.
Cause, if sleeping by your side is this poet's dream,
Waking up with you, is- my dream poetry.
Arising to Light, awaking at morn-
Your face next to mine- we're together at dawn.
