I fell in love with Economics when I took it as my major in college, and one of the subjects I loved most was Economic History. Given the huge span of literature existing on the subject, most of my classmates took the easy way out, relying on poorly written and often inaccurate `guides'. The idea came to me to combine my love for writing with my love for the subject- and my first published book was born- Economic History of India 1857-1947, created in collaboration with my friend, Samrat Singh!

This book was published just as I ended my first year, and for the first time, I experienced the thrill of seeing my book on shelves and in readers' hands. At the time, the book did pretty well- being reprinted at least four times so the royalties didn't hurt, as they pretty much paid for my college education and pocket money!

I followed this with another volume on Comparative Economic Development, published in 1994.

KEEPING IN TOUCH
