VEILED TRUTHS

Shrouded in mystery,

hidden behind a dark veil,

the truths you seek,

but to no avail.

The person you really are,

the choices you've made,

the paths you've trod,

and the times you've strayed.

Mustering up courage,

to push the veil apart,

to face the fears,

gnawing at your heart.

I guess 'tis better to face,

for yourself what's inside,

than have a gust of harsh reality,

push the veil aside.
